SHARING THOUGHTS AND LOOKING TO THE SCRIPTURES :

research interests span the fields of Biblical Studies, Jewish Studies, Patristics, and Late Antiquity. Particular areas of concern include the reception of Second Temple Jewish traditions in late antique Judaism and Christianity; the Hellenistic and Roman cultural contexts of ancient Judaism and Christianity; and the overlaps, ambiguities, and fluidity between Jewish and Christian identities in Late Antiquity. In much of my work, I have approached these issues through a focus on biblical interpretation (esp. of Genesis) — broadly construed to include, not only the practice of exegesis, but also the composition and reception of parabiblical literature, the transmission and translation of biblical texts, the creation of historiographical systems based on biblical narratives, the formation of textual canons, and the collection and compilation of midrashim.
Topics of interest

Four New Courses from Benny Hinn School of Ministry
print email share
Few things in life thrill me as much as believers who are earnestly seeking to go deeper into God’s Word and to “study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). And since early 2005, when I was led to start the first classes in Orange County, California, the response has been truly amazing. An incredible anointing has been on these in-depth Bible classes, and the filled classrooms and changed lives testify to God’s working through these sessions.

Several years ago, following the Lord’s leading and using the latest Internet technology, we began offering these Bible classes online and on demand to fit busy schedules.

Now you can discover what thousands of students have already experienced!

FOUR NEW IN-DEPTH COURSES
Best of all, each online class will change your life as you receive fresh, rich truths from the Word of God, nourishing and strengthening you in a deeper walk with our wonderful Lord Jesus.

Here are brief descriptions of the four newest study courses:

1. Intimacy with God
In this course, discover God’s desire for intimacy with His children. This teaching comes alive as we move through the Old Testament Tabernacle—from the Outer Court into the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies. Intimacy with God lessons include:

• A Deeper Dimension
• Into the Secret Place of the Most High
• Entering the Holy of Holies
• The Fragrance of Christ

God longs to fellowship with us, and He wants us to spend time with Him daily in the Holy of Holies. That should be your daily destination. And as you enter His presence, enjoy a realm of communion that will change your life forever. Becoming all that God desires for you to be begins when you seek intimacy with Almighty God!

2. God’s Agenda for the Ages, II: Revelation
In this sequel to God’s Agenda for the Ages, I, from the School of Ministry, we explore the amazing prophecies given to John on the Isle of Patmos. The “things which must shortly come to pass” from the book of Revelation are literally being fulfilled before our eyes, and we are told specifically that we will be blessed as we read, hear, and keep the “things which are written therein.” Find answers to these questions:

• What is God doing on planet Earth to prepare for end-time events?
• How does the nation of Israel figure into God’s timetable?
• What about the rise of the anti-Christ?
• What are the signs of Christ’s coming?
• What will happen before, during, and after the rapture of believers?

The word revelation means to “unveil, to reveal, to uncover.” Through this urgently needed, inspirational study of the book of the Revelation, go on a journey as you discover what God desires for you to know concerning the future.

We live in a prophetic hour. The signs are everywhere! Bible prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes, and believers must be aware what is happening. Find out where we are on God’s timeline. Get ready now for what will happen tomorrow with this time-sensitive study.

3. The Spirit of Elijah
We are the Elijah generation! Beginning with a sweeping panorama of Israel’s history, leading up to the time of Elijah, discover how the prophet appeared on the scene during one of the nation’s darkest days to declare famine on the land. Go through each of the prophet’s steps beginning at that point, including Cherith and Zarephath. Lessons include:

• God Moves in Seasons
• The Life of Elijah
• The Road to Zarephath
• The Fire of Elijah
• The Dimensions of the Anointing
• The Third Dimension of the Anointing
• The Dominion Anointing

Do you believe you have an anointed destiny? Discover the many parallels between Elijah’s life and believers today who are called by God to a mighty purpose. The spirit of Elijah belongs to people of destiny. But we cannot discover God’s will and our destiny without living in the Spirit.

When we speak about the anointing of Elijah, we don’t mean that anointing was his. It was God’s anointing on Elijah. And when we say “the days of Elijah,” we don’t mean days of revival but days of darkness as God worked through that mighty prophet. But Elijah’s destiny was to ride to heaven on a chariot of fire! I believe you will experience your calling and destiny in a deeper way through this online class.

4. The Hiding God
The New Testament in the Old is concealed, and the Old Testament in the New is revealed! When the early church read the Old Testament, Christ was hidden from them. The Holy Spirit had to reveal Him to them. Still, the Lord often appeared in the Old Testament. Go through the seven dispensations (eras) of the Bible, as well as the crucial issues relevant to believers today. Lessons include:

• Names of the Trinity
• The Angel of the Lord
• The Tithe
• The 10 Promises of the Covenant Blessing
• The Glory

Enter the pages of the Bible and learn for yourself how the historical sweep through the ages is a clear, cohesive picture of God’s love revealed to you! It is vital for any Bible student to understand the “hidden” things—the types and shadows that point to our Lord Jesus Christ. Though I have taught the Old Testament for over three and a half decades, I am often amazed at how much God’s Word continues to be revealed as I delve deeper and deeper in my study, as if seeing with new eyes. I pray that this course will do the same for you!

NEW God’s Agenda for the Ages II (Book of Revelation)
The book of Revelation, given by the Holy Spirit to the apostle John, begins:

The Revelations of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. (Revelation 1:1-3)

We live in an hour when the “things which must shortly come to pass” are literally being fulfilled before our eyes. Believers must be aware of what is happening, and we are told specifically that we will be blessed as we read, hear, and keep the “things which are written therein.”

Deliverance from Demons
The Bible depicts the devil and his demons as cunning creatures of incredible power whose primary goal is to kill, steal, and destroy us.

Now, in these ground-breaking Benny Hinn School of Ministry class sessions, best-selling author, evangelist, and Bible teacher Benny Hinn offers clear-cut principles to help you recognize and defeat the enemies of your soul.

Pastor Benny’s powerful course on demonology will help you discover:

•Where evil spirits originate
•What powers they possess
•Your most vulnerable areas for attack
•Who controls demons
•How to expose the rulers of darkness
•Weapons that work against satan’s demons
•How to defend yourself against evil powers
•How believers can have complete victory over the forces of evil
Believers are at war! And the Bible makes it clear that our foes are not of this world: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).

The power to subdue and defeat the enemy does not rest in your strength but comes from the Lord, who declares: “I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19).

Preparation for battle against spiritual wickedness requires supernatural understanding of kingdom principles. Get ready now for your own battle “against the rulers of the darkness of this world” through this power-packed DVD series!

Prayer Warrior’s; Title – “Purpose” , Subtitle – “Meaning”

March 7, 2013

i like this benny hinn ministry link and idea

http://www.bennyhinn.org/prayer/mighty-warriors
If it is that it is GOD, or “of God”, (or G-d),(or Jesus – Christ,  Jehova, Yahwey, Thee I am, Thee Alpha and Thee Omega, The Creator, The Father And The Spirit, The Holy Spirt; etc;, etc,..of all, the one “as the source”), and of truth that He is raising up a “Praying Army”, or “army of Prayers”(people that pray together in different ways and for different reasons and different purposes, and different eanings)  and that the prayers of all these people are answered of these intercessors; then  “to prepare” for it, I believe that would be the purpose for the people.
AND IF SO, AGAIN, Then I think that it would be a an unprecedented move of the Holy Spirit around the globe. ”
AND THAT THE “Purpose”  to prepare the way for individuals who are praying to concider this could be a help; Helping in many ways,, ecconomics, health,, etcc…

THE MEANING ….
to move into larger spiritual arenas for the Lord, and as we see greater victories and results for God’s glory, we are also taking the message of God’s saving and healing power into more nations than ever before, sometimes to millions in our Miracle Crusades!

Think about the impact you, as a vital part of the Mighty Warriors Prayer Army, will have for souls worldwide!

The apostle Paul wrote to the Romans asking “that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me” (Romans 15:30). If Paul needed a prayer covering for his ministry, just think how much more we need that help in these last days!

The Lord promises: “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not” (Jeremiah 33:3).

Maturity Of Tithe

March 7, 2013

I left a comment today on the AskPastorGeorge WordPress.
I cant find the updated news link yet about the topic, but I like the opinion.
Good post that I “Liked”; inspired the current post of my own.
http://askpastorgeorge.wordpress.com/2013/02/06/tithing-pastors-and-the-applebees-tip/

Of this post title “MATURTY OF TITHE” i thought to define both “tithe” and THE WORD “maturity” in respect to investment ….
.. inspiration kinda gets overwhelmed by the SPIRIT OF WHAT “LIVING HEALTHiLY” as the REAL MATURITY of acting.

Indicative of sound, rational thinking or frame of mind: a healthy attitude. 4. Sizable; considerable: a healthy portion of potatoes; a healthy raise in salary.
Oh yeah, then there is that “free” part to isolate out of the name of the dictionary,..
… but that would be just as silly; ha’uh?

SO STICKING TO THE “TITHE” and NOT TO MUCH yet, to the “TITHER”..

I gotta relate the NEW NEWS ARTICLE IS THE REASON
I SEARCHED MORE, and Found And “WordPress” “Liked”  the askpastorgeorge post OPINION from the ORIGINAL News Article(even though I think he heard or read a second hand story) (what I just read on the New Article is, that the Pastor in the News was a female)(“”her””) (unless I’m confusing what Inread of the waitress and a Pastor) .

They could have just been diplomatic about it all, and had a drink together and forget about it.
So anyway, here I go on the rest…
The news article I read today of the employee being fired over publishing a personal signature and transaction of  a receipt left by  some preacher who decided he didn’t have to leave a tip at a resturaunt.
I thought I’d leave the comment because I liked the perspective of the AskPastorGearge”‘s  post
http://askpastorgeorge.wordpress.com/2013/02/06/tithing-pastors-and-the-applebees-tip/

My further wonder of the latest news is ABOUT the EXPECTED “Maturity” of preachers in general with their “personal philosophy” or “plural philosophies” ; in that by choices(having our cake and eating it too)  that as we age, or learn, or improve, we may also then change our discern by differentiating similarity in likeness or unlikenesses, to many things in life. Specifically a “Personal Developement” definition of “mature” and “maturity”.

To further the cause of The LORD, I could see it likewise as just as  mature “a gesture” ; in that “if”” it were really a “”reflection of faith”” BY ADDED NOTES TO A TIP RECIEPT, the simple note instructed by suggestion on the the tip form (suggesting) 18 % ….
…the note with a tip of 19% as affect or effect, efficient to the cause, to note I give extra to you in hope you to see you in church  soon… included”

Description (optional) Since the “tithe” ITSELF is also an “offering gift”  as much as it is a type of investment, or as an “absalute” degree on a scale of exactness of greatness of values to mark a BY AMOUNT tithed as a “point of reflection that reflects the level of personal faith”; and since also the rate or frequency can be included to reflect “averages” …. some maturity may relate.

Find Your Life Purpose

Uncovering

Geometric Planetary Configurations
in the
Astrological Natal Chart

As Spirits having a human experience, we continually search for the meaning of our existence and strive for the evolution of our consciousness that places us firmly on the Path that will reunite us with the Source or All That Is. In fact, over the last 30 to 40 years, it seems that more people have begun searching for their Life Purpose than at any other time in recorded history.

Why is this? Could it be that we, as a species, are at a stage in our evolutionary cycle which will either see humans evolve consciously into the Fifth Dimension and beyond, or leave us to our own devices, which will more than likely result in our destroying ourselves and our planet?
Why

are we here? Well, that question might be a bit too existential to tackle in such a ‘short’ article, but there actually is a clue in each of our astrological natal charts which indicates what we, personally, intended to accomplish ‘this time around’ when we wrote out our scripts. And this ‘clue’ points to our Life Purpose.

Most anyone who knows anything about astrology, is aware that our astrological natal chart – or map of the sky at the time of our birth – is made up of planets in the same or various signs of the Zodiac which are bunched together or, more often, scattered all over the round, sometimes square, grid that resembles a pie cut into 12 slices, as shown below:
What is not as well known is that the collective placement of each of the planets contributes to a

geometric planetary configuration which, collectively, indicate the Life Purpose.

The first step is to look at the center of the circle where several red, green and blue lines converge and cross. The green lines represent those planets which are trine

b or 120 degrees or 4 signs away from each other. This is the most beneficial connection between planets. The next is the quincunx ? or inconjunct configuration, which are planets that are 150 degrees or 5 signs apart from each other. Depending on the planets involved, the quincunx can either be neutral or challenging; very seldom is it ever positive. Usually, it causes friction, though the friction of a quincunx contributes to Soul growth. The quincunx in this configuration is part of a Yod or Finger of God, which has as its base, two planets which are sextile n or 60 degrees or 2 signs away from each other. While the sextile adds positive and motivating energy to the configuration, the quincunx from both the Moon to Mercury and retrograde Neptune and retrograde Chiron to Mercury is frictive. The red lines represent those planets which are square c or 90 degrees apart or 3 signs away from each other or opposite x, 180 degrees apart or 6 signs away from each other.

However, this is only one of the configurations that can be lifted from a natal chart. As shown below, there are at least eight different configurations that could conceivably make up a natal chart. This diagram was taken from the book

MAGI Astrology: The Key to Success in Love and Money, written by the MAGI Society, and published by Hay House, Inc., Copyright © 1999, and shows the configurations, with the specific name for each, handwritten below or beside the shapes.

At or near each of the points is a handwritten number in a circle. This number corresponds to the distance between one point and the next based on the number of houses (12). For instance, in the diagram of the Grand Trine, the number 4 is shown at each of the points of the triangle. This means that there are four Zodiac signs between one point of this particular geometric figure and the next point of that same figure or four sections of 30 degrees (120 degrees = 4 x 30). Thirty degrees times 12 equals 360 degrees, the circumference of the zodiac circle in the night sky.
Another of the configurations, the T-Square, shows an opposition of two or more planets, which are 180 degrees or 6 signs apart:

…while the two sides of the T-Square are both 90 degrees or 3 signs apart. In other words, the distance from point A to point C is 90 degrees or 3 signs apart, while the distance from point C to point B is also 90 degrees or 3 signs apart.
A
A => C = 90°

Planets sitting at each of the points in any of the configurations have a special meaning. According to the MAGI Society, “

…whenever three or more planets formed a symmetrical pattern in the sky, the chances of a mega-event [or individual with a significant Life Purpose being born during this planetary transit] occurring were high…[and/or] that some significant event was about to take place.”

But what, you might wonder, are the significance of these shapes, and how is the Life Purpose deciphered and interpreted from a geometrically configured diagram?
Geometric Planetary Configurations
Although there are eight shapes, only five are used consistently when interpreting a chart by those astrologers who utilize these configurations at all: the Grand Trine; T-Square; Grand Cross; the Yod or Finger of God (sometimes also known as the Finger of Fate) and the Double Grand Trine (or Grand Sextile), also known as the Star of David. Some astrologers also use the Kite, though it seems to be used much less frequently than the previous five.

Following is a break down and description of each of the configurations. A configuration can either be beneficial, ambiguous (either neutral or challenging, depending on which planets are involved), and turbulent or challenging.

Beneficial:

Double Grand Trine or Star of David

Also known as the

Great Sextile as well as the Grand Sextile (there is actually another configuration by this name, also known as the Basket). The Hebrew prophets, who were the best astrologers of their time, believed that anyone born when the planets formed this aspect would be exceptionally powerful and lucky and that any

event that occurred during this transit would be
propitious. This is not mere superstition. There is evidence to suggest, based on the historical records which have been passed down regarding King David and the Israelites, that this man

was extremely lucky, and

Beneficial:

Double Grand Trine/Grand Sextile (Star of David); Grand Trine; Kite

Ambiguous:

Yod (Finger of God); Grand Sextile (Basket); Golden Rectangle

Turbulent:

T-Square; Grand Cross

certainly quite powerful, more than any of the other Hebrew or other surrounding kings.
Actually, there are two ways to look at this configuration: 1) as a double grand trine, in which case there are 120 degrees or 4 signs in between the points of the trined planets (of each triangle), or 2) as a great or grand sextile, where there are 60 degrees or 2 signs in between each point of the Star. Either way this is considered the most auspicious planetary configuration to have in an astrological chart, whether that of an individual or an event. The evenly spaced signs/planets provide a balance that the other configurations don’t necessarily bestow. As with other trines, it can be deceptive in that with this placement, an individual can become lax in issues relating to the trined planets. Trines have a way of making things too easy, so the tendency is to become lazy. However, because this configuration is also a sextile, the energy of the sextiled planets each give some momentum to the planet on either side of it, thus providing the native with a bit more energy and incentive to work towards completion of a goal.
A little history regarding the origin of these configurations: although many scholars believe that the Hebrew prophet, Samuel, was an astrologer, and thus was responsible for naming this configuration after the shepherd boy, David, who later became the second King of Israel, there is actually no hard core evidence proving this. However, according to the Biblical Torah or the first five books of the Bible, the Hebrews were instructed by God to look for signs in the sun, moon and stars or the heavens. Other Bible entries also imply that the Hebrew prophets

were prophets because they were also astrologers. I’ve studied the Bible for many years, and having the astrological knowledge I’ve had for about as long as I’ve studied the Bible, I’ve been able to spot some astrological references. The fact that this particular symbol (the six-pointed star) also just ‘happens’ to exactly resemble a fairly distinctive astrological configuration is far past coincidence. It would be one thing if it were a common 5 pointed star. But the 6 pointed star – which is actually two equilateral triangles placed so that the point of one triangle points upward, while the other points downward – is commonly associated with the Hebrews or Jews, but was first seen in Sumeria or Sumer, the land of the ancestors of the Babylonians, to whom astrology is credited. (FYI: the Hebrew patriarch, Abraham, father to Isaac and husband to Sarah, was actually born and raised in Ur of the Chaldees or Chaldea. Chaldea was a Babylonian city-state descended from Sumer.)

The fact that the Bible states that God ‘abhors’ astrologers and calls for their deaths throughout the Hebrew version of the Scriptures, in no way negates the probability that the upper echelons of the priestly caste were secretly instructed to do exactly what they were told God abhored. The Holy of Holies of the Hebrew Tabernacle or Temple was off limits to even the lesser Levite priests, who were not allowed to view the High Priest while he was ‘communing’ with God. Astrology is hardly a mystical, immoral or dangerous profession, therefore it causes one to wonder just why even the Levites were strictly instructed not to share the details of their service to Yahweh (Jehovah), and why, especially, all but High Priests (who were often prophets as was Samuel) were banned from the Holy of Holies.

• The next most beneficial planetary configuration is the

Grand Trine which consists of three or more planets spaced at 120 degrees from or 4 signs apart from each other. As stated, a trine implies ease, or lack of friction. Sometimes this can be a good thing, other times not. It just depends on the other planets and planetary configurations involved.

The affect a Grand Trine has on an individual

or situation is further determined by the element

it’s in. A Grand

Fire Trine has a totally

different feel than a Grand

Water Trine, Grand

Air

Trine, or Grand Earth Trine. Fire symbolizes action, aggression and passion; Water symbolizes fluidity, emotion and intuition; Air is communication and intellect; and Earth is solidity, groundedness, stubbornness, values, money and love of others or love for something (often money).

In the Sample Chart above, note the Grand Fire Trine. Beginning on the left side of the chart, in both the 12th and 1st Houses, is Jupiter

h in Sagittarius o which is conjunct retrograde \ Pluto ;. These two planets are trine b Saturn j in Leo t in the 9th House and retrograde \ Venus f in the 8th house conjunct the Vertex U and the Part of Fortune L. The last leg of the trine shows that these previous two planets and two points are also trine b the Moon s in Aries q in the 4th House. Not only is the individual born on this day prone to repressed or suppressed aspects of the characteristics of each of the retrograde planets in the chart (there are 5), but the Grand Fire Trine indicates that although this person is obsessively (Pluto) emotional and protective (Moon) of his/her family (the 4th House), they hide this fact from others (including, possibly, their own family!). And yet, simultaneously, this person suppresses their emotions. One might also believe this person feels no love or doesn’t show his/her love at all (retrograde Venus). However, that is far from the case. A retrograde Venus in the 8th House (of secrets, sex, etc.) is very similar to an 8th House Sun who hides who they really are from the public and chooses to keep his/her private life, private. So the love this person shows to a significant other or to family will be done in private. This placement also causes the retrograde Venus in the 8th House individual to hide or lead a secret love life, if they choose to have a love life at all, which usually is not necessarily something a person with Venus in retrograde cares one way or the other to do. They’ll do it, but it’s generally not as important to them as it is to the rest of us without this placement.

Additionally, even though Saturn (restriction) is in Leo (leadership, creativity, romance, pleasure) in the 9th House (mental journeys, higher education, religion, philosophy and travel), it’s very probable that the native chose to place his/her Saturn here in order to be structured and disciplined as well. The Part of Fortune

L in Leo in the 8th House could also indicate that this person will be receiving a ‘king-sized’ inheritance, especially since this placement is trine Jupiter (expansion, good luck) in Sagittarius (more expansion and

good luck), though s/he is likely to keep this inheritance secret (both 8th and 12th Houses).
So a Fire Trine makes it easy for the native to accomplish his/her goals because being aggressive and action oriented comes easy to him/her, while a Water Trine might cause the individual to be more flexible or fluid (mutable), emotional or even intuitive. An Air Trine lends more communicative and intellectual abilities and an Earth Trine causes the person to be more stable, grounded, fixed and often stubborn.

• The final beneficial configuration to consider is the

Kite, which is a combination of a Grand Trine and two sextiles. An excellent explanation for the Kite can be found on Wikipedia.com:

In astrology, the

kite is a special type of grand trine. In the normal grand trine configuration, three planets or other celestial bodies are equally spaced across the horoscope 120 degrees apart, thereby making three trines that form one configuration of a triangle on the chart. In the kite aspect, a fourth planet is involved, which forms an opposition to one of the planets involved in the grand trine. In addition to opposing the one planet, it will form a sextile to the other two planets in the grand trine.

Whenever a person has a kite in his chart, he is considered to be more likely to be successful in his endeavours [sic] because the opposition will give him the push to go out and conquer the obstacles that are presented to him, and the sextiles will give him a little bit more harmony once he has achieved his goals.
The fourth planet in the kite configuration, which opposes one planet and sextiles the other two, is the point in the chart that will hold the key to the special talents and gifts that the native can focus on to help him to achieve success in this life.

The only thing this description doesn’t mention is the fact that sometimes, there is more than one planet in the position of the fourth planet in the Kite configuration that indicates ‘special talent.’ I have 6 planets (Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Pluto), plus my Ascendant and Part of Fortune which sextile the outer planets of the Kite and oppose my retrograde Chiron in Aquarius in the 6th House which forms one leg of a Grand Trine/Kite. The two sextiles are my South Node of the Moon in Gemini in the 10th House and my Neptune in Libra in the 3rd House. Hmmm, ‘special talent’? It could have something to do with being able to effectively speak (3rd House, South Node of the Moon in Gemini) to others (10th House of the Public, Career) regarding the health and (wounded) relationship issues (Chiron in the 6th House) I’ve experienced myself in order to help others learn how to work their way out of their own emotional morasses.
Ambiguous:

• One of the most intriguing (in my opinion) planetary configurations is the

Yod or Finger of God, alternatively known as the Finger of Fate. The Yod consists of planets positioned at three separate points of an isosceles triangle. The planet at the apex of the Yod, or the focal planet, is 150 degrees or 5 signs away from each of the planets on the bottom left and right of the figure, while the planets on the bottom, in turn, are sextile or 60 degrees or 2 signs away from each other.

There seems to be a consensus among most astrologers, that the Yod points to some destined, ‘fated’ or karmic event, and is fairly rare. While I believe that the Yod does point to some significant event that should transpire later in the native’s life (a factotum which also seems to be agreed upon by most astrologers), I also believe that the fruition of the event is left up to the native’s (subconscious) discretion. In other words, the event

may be ‘destined’ to occur, only in as much as it is up to the native to work their way through the issues that cloud her/his spiritual evolution, issues which usually place roadblocks on the individual’s personal Path to Enlightenment. If the native can make his or her way past those roadblocks (i.e.: tests, lessons), they will have pulled themselves out of their past and launched themselves towards being better able to comprehend, process and implement the necessary spiritual evolutionary changes.

Another interesting aside regarding the Yod from the perspective of a fellow astrologer with several Yods in her chart:

“For those of us with quincunx

[sic] or yods in our charts, we know it is not a minor part of our life. Often it is such a strong compulsion and frustration, it colors the rest of our life significantly. The minor concept may be attributed to the ambiguity that comes with the quincunx. Often its the “little things” that we can’t quite put “our finger on.” This is the energy of the quincunx, the constant re-adjusting and frustration.”

I, too, have a Yod in my chart, and can totally relate to this feeling of compulsion and the frustration of not being able to ‘put your finger’ on just what it is you’re supposed to be doing. Until the native narrows his/her focus pertaining to his/her areas of interest,

everything seems overwhelming and confusing. And as this same astrologer points out, this configuration is not called the ‘Finger of God’ for no reason.

Additionally, even though these geometrical configurations are of Sumerian/ Babylonian origin, two of the most prominent of the configurations – the Star of

David and the Yod – were given Hebrew names/meanings. According to reputed astrologers, Rick Levine and Jeff Jawer of StarIQ.com:

The yod is a letter of the Hebrew alphabet, and the first letter in the Hebrew name for God, Yahweh. The traditional name of this pattern has been “The Finger of God.” It is considered a fateful configuration, and in birthcharts of individuals, usually indicates that somewhere in his life the individual will face a turning point… The pattern forms a Y spanning the horoscope—a symbolic fork in the road.
It’s this ‘symbolic fork in the road’ that points to the native’s Life Purpose, and in my opinion, the Yod, more than any other geometric planetary configuration, points to the Life Purpose. Does this mean that if you don’t have a Yod in your chart you don’t have a Life Purpose? Of course not. The other configurations also point to our Life Purpose, though they don’t usually seem to be as specific as the Yod.

As for the ‘fact’ that the Yod is rare, I believe that this, definitely, may have been true at one time. But because I also believe that we’re transiting a time of history where the urgency for incarnating Souls to assist humanity to evolve consciously is so compulsory, it seems that Yods in the natal chart over the last century have become less rare. Many of us have specific ‘missions’ or ‘special Life Purposes’ which need to be fulfilled in order to facilitate our elevation in consciousness, and therefore, the prevalence of the Yod.
• The

Great Sextile, Grand Sextile or Basket. Although ‘Grand Sextile’ is the name that the MAGI Society gives this particular shape, I am unable to find any further reference to it as such. ‘Grand Sextile’ is actually the alternative name for the Star of David or Double Grand Trine. However, because this is how this particular shape is listed in The Key To Success in Love and Money, the designation, as such, will be retained. Unfortunately, the MAGI Society neglected to define exactly how this configuration is supposed to affect a native. Yet, by noting that there are three sextiles and an opposition, we can figure that this configuration will bestow a fairly steady personality or life with an underlying streak of unconventionality. Or things may run along smoothly, for the most part, and then a huge bump in the road creates a major traffic jam. The worst thing about these aspects is that they can sneak up on you. You’re going along just fine, everything running smoothly and – WHAM! – a semi full of life rams you out of nowhere. As far as how it pertains to the Life Purpose, I see this particular configuration as more of a mitigating pattern than anything. That is, it

offsets or modifies the effects of other configurations, therefore it’s more of an auxiliary configuration.
• The

Golden Rectangle is another configuration referenced in the MAGI Society’s book, but which isn’t used by most other astrologers, to my knowledge. Like a Yod, the two sextiles should add some stability and harmony, though a bit more than a Yod. However, the two quincunxes are going to cause some heavy duty friction. Quincunxes always do. But hey, that’s how we learn. They’re our Teachers.

Turbulent:

The T-Square is a very difficult configuration to have in one’s chart, and even more difficult to actually experience it. As noted above, it consists of an opposition (180 degrees or 6 signs apart) and two squares (90 degrees or 3 signs apart). Generally these patterns are utilized mainly as auxiliary configurations, because they also modify the effects of the other configurations. Maybe we wanted to set ourselves a challenge to see if we could do this thing, fulfill the Life Purpose we set for ourselves. Or maybe we needed the impetus of the challenge to give us that extra boost that might be necessary due to the difficulty of the task we’ve chosen for ourselves this time around. The T-Square indicates the necessity to overcome numerous obstacles, yet also provides the native with a compulsion to do so. In order to work with this energy, the tension between the two opposing planets must be modified or released by the third planet on the receiving end of the double square. This third planet acts as a focal point and release mechanism which, once the native realizes what needs to be done to harness the energy of the T-Square, will allow him to focus the collective energy of this configuration directly into the ultimate goal through the focal planet.

A T-Square in

Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) causes an individual to generally be quite impatient, hyper-critical of others, domineering, and ready to move on to the next project or person. They are extremely energetic and constantly looking for ways to expend that energy, and also oftentimes are too quick to make decisions without thinking through the possible consequences.

Yet, at the same time these individuals are the most pioneering bunch of the Zodiac, willing to go ‘where no one has gone before.’ They’re the risk-takers, the “I’ll do it! Send me!” people necessary to forge new trails, even if they hand off the progress of the project once they get bored with it to the Fixed types who are generally their support personnel.
A T-Square in

Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) tends to push the native to be structured in everything s/he does. These individuals are more prone to see the big picture, rather than the details, and have a difficult time handling anything that’s abstract. Their biggest challenge is in learning how to be flexible in dealing with others and more willing to change when necessary. Positive aspects of this modality are stamina and endurance under stress and the ability to resist adversity. However, these people can be STUBBORN and unyielding, even when it’s in their best interest to be more malleable, partially because they don’t like change. It’s not that they’re afraid of change, it’s just that it’s easier to remain where they are, than to have to make changes, even if those changes are often necessary. Learning to be less rigid in their response to life and its adversities will allow them to focus more on their intent, while steadily making their way towards their ultimate goal.

A T-Square in

Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces) generally creates the tendency to be all over the map. The bad thing about mutable signs is that they can be wishy-washy, fickle, too flexible and oftentimes without structure. They’re like elementals flitting here and there, tasting a bit of this and that, but never really committing to any one thing. They’re slippery. Especially Gemini. But the positive side of this modality is that, like Libra, they are more willing to see several sides of an issue and to change as and when necessary. Their ability to be so expansive in their view of anything, is due to the fact that they generally can’t sit still long enough to see only one aspect of an issue. Consequently, they’ll look at the issue from every which way possible to get a good feel for it (because they can’t stop moving), and then decide on the appropriate course of action. Of course, they may not stick around long enough to carry through on that action. But, that’s what the Fixed signs are for, no?

Whatever the case, this configuration significantly offsets the ease of a Grand Trine or Kite and can provide us the strength we need, when we need it to ultimately accomplish our goal.
• The last of the configurations under consideration is the

Grand Cross. Similar to the way Grand Trines represent a specific element (fire, earth, etc.), like T-Squares, Grand Crosses are representative of a specific modality or quality, i.e.: Grand Cardinal Cross, Grand Fixed Cross and Grand Mutable Cross. A Grand Fixed

Cross, for instance, consists of planets in Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. Each of these signs is square or opposite to each other. Yet the configuration is actually a cross or square because each of the planets that is in each of these signs is square to or a distance of 90 degrees from its neighbor. The ‘cross’ configuration comes from the fact that two oppositions are formed creating an equilinear cross-like structure in the chart:

:

The cross usually denotes a person who lives under continual stress, as well as constant challenges, tension and upheaval. Regardless, these natives have a difficult time resting until their Life Purpose has been attained.

The affects of each of the Grand Crosses influences the native in the same way as the corresponding modality (cardinal, fixed, mutable) in the T-Square, though the intensity is a bit more pronounced.

Step by Step Method for Uncovering the Life Purpose
1) Look for the specific configurations, such as:
• Star of David

• Kite
• Grand Trine
• Yod
• Basket
• Golden Rectangle
• T-Square
• Grand Cross
2) Consider the Zodiac sign in which each planet resides and the attributes and characteristics of each.
3) Determine the characteristics of the Houses.
4) Determine the elements – fire, earth, air or water – for the various configurations, if applicable (not all configurations possess the same element).
5) Determine the modality – cardinal, fixed, mutable.
6) Determine which planet is the focal point for each configuration. That planet which appears most often as the focal planet for any given configuration (or even as an auxiliary planet), is the ‘theme’ planet for the natal chart and points to the Life Purpose.

Case Study: Interpreting Geometric Planetary Configurations and Uncovering the Life Purpose in the Natal Chart
To better understand what a natal chart looks like when the geometric planetary configurations are ‘lifted’ from the chart, I’ve included a copy of my natal chart which is shown below.

As mentioned, it is theoretically possible to have all eight of the configurations in one chart, though I’m not aware of any charts that have all eight. However, because my chart has six of these configurations (two of which are T-Squares), it will suffice as an example of planetary geometry in the natal chart.
Another item of interest: the ‘points’ – the North and South Nodes of the Moon, the Midheaven, the Ascendant and the Part of Fortune – can also be utilized along with
planets when determining planetary geometry, since they obviously figure prominently in the Life Purpose, even if there don’t happen to be planets tenanting those houses.

‘Lifting’ Out the Configurations
For simplicity’s sake I’ve created a ‘check-list’ of sorts, which provides an overview of which configurations we’ll be working with.

Each of the lines of the configurations on the chart is color coded for ease of identification, as shown below:

Life Purpose Configurations

: retrograde \ Chiron K The planet the other planets and points point to or the planet which seems to figure most prominently in the chart. In my chart, and (ironically?) in the majority of the configurations lifted in my chart, Chiron is either the focal planet, or included in some other way.

Rulership

: Depending on various authorities, Chiron rules marriage; astrology (along with Uranus); divination, tarot; wounded relationships, mystical experiences, spiritual ecstasy, service to others, etc. According to Matrix Software, Chiron “was a great healer, astrologer and an oracle. Chiron rules crystals and healing and was suppose [sic] to be the teacher of heroes to help them discover their destiny.” Likewise, astrologers have

placed its sign ruler as either Virgo, Sagittarius (mainly because Chiron was a centaur, as is Sagittarius) or Pisces, and its House, the 6th – House of Service to Others and Healing/Health. Visionary astrologer, Barbara Hand Clow, provides a fairly convincing case for Virgo, and others for Pisces. However, based on the thousands of astrological charts I’ve calculated over the years, I’m more inclined to believe that Hand Clow is correct: Chiron is ruled by Virgo.

In regard to

retrograde Chiron, Hand Clow, in her 1987 definitive Chiron classic, Chiron, Rainbow Bridge Between the Inner and Outer Planets, states that this is an indication that a ‘healer trained in past lives has manifested.’ Additionally, says Clow, “…the number of aspects between Chiron and the other planets indicates the degree of healing power and natural alchemical response patterns within the native.”

Because there hasn’t been too much written about Chiron up to this point, other than what Clow, Zane Stein, Martin Lass and a handful of others have touched on, we’re still learning about the specific affects Chiron has on the native. Fortunately (or not so fortunately, depending on how one looks at it), my Chiron is also retrograde and figures so prominently in my chart, so I might be able to add some clarification as to how this manifests. In my opinion, Chiron retrograde causes us to, first, look within in order to heal ourselves, while simultaneously magnetize healing from outside. I am currently experiencing a major transformational emotional, mental and spiritual shift due to the current transit and because my retrograde Chiron is also in Aquarius in the 6th House, I’m determining how best to offer my services (6th House) to others (Aquarius, which rules the 11th House of groups/others).

Adjunct planets/points

: Neptune l, South Node of the Moon Q (Midheaven D), Moon s Part of Fortune L, Jupiter h, Venus f, Sun a, Mars g, Pluto ;, the Ascendant S, Mercury d, and Neptune l – these are the planets and points which lend support to the focal planet.

• South Node of the Moon in Gemini – I’m drawing on my current and past-life communication and intellectual abilities to assist in my endeavor in this lifetime. The fact that the SNM is in the 10th House (the Midheaven) indicates that these abilities have manifested previously in public and are part of my career and reputation, and that they are/will again be manifesting in this area, since this point is also part of my Kite and the Grand Water Trine configurations.

• Uranus in Cancer – Provides ingenuity/genius, uniqueness, independence, originality, psychic/intuitive abilities, resourcefulness and inspiration especially as they pertain to groups of individuals whom I view as my family. This, too, is a very emotional (Cancer) area for me. Additionally, Uranus is Aquarius’s planetary ruler and co-rules astrology as well (along with Chiron), thus providing me with those abilities I need to assist others through this venue (astrology).
• The Moon in Leo – Bold and courageous emotional and intuitive abilities. Emotions, in particular, are what help to push this configuration to its ultimate

goal, while supplying me with the added intuitive abilities I need which augment my astrological abilities.
• Part of Fortune in Leo – My wealth or fortune will materialize through creative endeavors, specifically as they relate to values (my POF is also conjunct Venus).
• Jupiter in Leo – My creative, courage and leadership abilities will be greatly expanded and bolstered, providing me with the additional assistance necessary, especially as they relate to my philosophical viewpoint and education, both that of others and myself.
• Venus in Leo – Values and love of others, in particular, are highlighted here. While Leo is generally known to be egotistical and self-centered, the fact is most Leos really do care about others. In this case, Leo provides the courage to push these values to the forefront, thus providing the support necessary to reach my destination.
• Sun in Leo – The Self and the way we wish to appear to others; although this is the traditional explanation for the Sun, I’d like to add another: the Sun also represents brightness and happiness. Since the Sun is Leo’s planetary ruler, it is in its natural element, which is, in this case, fire. Like Pluto, the Sun is a force, and representative of energy. When in Leo, the Sun’s natural ebullience manifests, especially where leadership, creativity and courage are concerned. Therefore the Sun, more than any of the other planets except Pluto, is the major motivational factor behind the push to reach my goals.
• Mars in Leo – Leadership, courage and creativity are energized, active and aggressive in this placement. Even working behind the scenes (as it does when it’s located in the 12th House), Mars can be a force with which to be reckoned. As long as Leo keeps his head, Mars in this sign can be extremely beneficial and can add to the success of the endeavor.
• Pluto in Leo – Though Pluto definitely has a few negative connotations, power and transformation are two of its positive characteristics. The downside is that with Pluto in Leo in the 1st House conjunct Mars in Leo, the intensity can be problematic for some. However, in order to accomplish my goals, it is necessary. Pluto in the 1st House allows transformation at the appropriate time, especially in areas involving creativity, leadership and courage.
• Mercury in Virgo – Although, traditionally, Virgo has co-ruled Mercury along with Gemini, most astrologers now agree that Virgo more accurately rules Chiron. However, with Mercury in Virgo, communication and intellect are precise, articulate, organized, methodical and require nothing less than perfection. For the native with this placement, precision is paramount.

• Neptune in Libra – In its highest form Neptune is symbolic of creative genius, spiritual wisdom, psychic and uncanny intuitive abilities, dreams, artistic vision and ideals, among other things. Libra is balanced, fair, diplomatic, loving and lovable, empathic and harmonious. When in Libra, Neptune’s characteristics are more balanced. Because Neptune also rules the unconscious and illusion, the need for balance is extremely important.
NOTE regarding planets in the 12th House: Typically, the 12th House hides or suppresses the expression of any planet. When part of a Kite configuration, the qualities of those planets is hidden even more until such time as the qualities of the planet(s) which occupy the bell are made manifest or brought to the fore, usually during mid-life.

Intercepted planets/signs and points

: Intercepted signs, planets or points are

those signs, planets or points which are located entirely within a house but do not appear on the cusp.

Intercepted signs operate in the unconscious; a chart with several planets in intercepted signs have a powerful creative unconscious. Transits and progressions usually trigger the intercepted planets. Meditation facilitates the access of higher states of consciousness, which is necessary to activate the gifts offered by the intercepted planets. Accessing is often done when a person is removed from their normal or usual environment and makes the time to get in touch with the qualities of the intercepted planet(s) as transits/progressions trigger the intercept.

Intercepted planets/sign

:

Planets:
Moon — deep emotions, intuition
Part of Fortune — wealth, fortune
Jupiter — mental journeys, higher education, expansion, good luck
Venus — values, love (of something or someone), money
Sun — the Self, the way we wish to appear to others
Mars — energy, aggression, passion
Sign:
Leo — creativity, courage, leadership, pleasure, romance
House:
12th — While there are several meanings for the 12th House, the
one that seems most apropos is that characteristics,
talents and skills are hidden until, usually, later in

life, even though the native may have begun

developing these talents and skills much earlier

Interpretation: The meaning of the intercepted planets and points seems evident. That is, the intercepted signs being located in the 12th House indicate that the areas (talents and skills) symbolized by the planets and points located here will be ‘hidden’ or under development until later in life at which time they will be unleashed, and like an arrow, will lead straight to the abilities portrayed by Chiron, the focal planet.

NOTE: The Houses are just as much an important part of the configurations as the planets, signs and points. The Houses indicate where the native’s purpose will be played out, as well as what areas of the native’s life will be highlighted with that particular configuration. Additionally, the sign and planetary rulers of the Houses should be taken into consideration when interpreting the meaning of the configuration being studied, since they contribute to the overall meaning of the House.
Aside from the Yod, the Kite is the most significant indicator of a Life Purpose. Typically, there is only one planet which serves as a focal point, but occasionally two or more planets and/or points can also be conjunct with the focal planet. To determine which planet should be designated as the focal planet, the lower points of the trine where it connects with the sextiles must be determined. Whichever planet(s) is opposite that planet(s), is the focal planet. The Kite configuration is similar to a rocket ship: the sextiles act like ballast to balance out the configuration, while the planet (my 6 planets, Part of Fortune and Ascendant in Leo, in this case) that opposes the focal planet (Chiron) acts as a thruster (Pluto = power) to push the configuration in the right direction. Chiron is where I want to go: assisting others in learning to understand and heal their own wounds.
Although the Kite in my chart is a bit lopsided and doesn’t seem to form the traditional Kite structure, it is, indeed, a Kite. The configuration is lop-sided because there are so many planets in the 12

th House which knock the alignment out of kilter.

Planets and points that occupy the Kite’s ‘bell’

: The typical explanation for anything that occupies this area is that the gifts or special talent that is generally manifested by the planet which is opposite the focal planet (in my case the focal planet is Chiron) is hidden until such time as they are needed. I agree with that explanation, but from my

experience, these planets/points also lend quite a bit of extra oomphf to the configuration once those talents

are made manifest. It’s almost as if the pressure continues to build while the planet/planets are in a ‘dormant’ state (unmanifested), until such time as the ‘special talent’ is recognized, at which point the effect is similar to a volcano erupting (especially in charts similar to mine). In general, there are, at most, one or two planets which are in opposition to the focal planet. In my Kite, however, there are six planets (the Moon, Jupiter, Venus, the Sun, Mars and Pluto) and two points (the Part of Fortune and my Ascendant) which oppose the focal planet, though all these plus my Uranus (in Cancer) and Mercury (in Virgo) also occupy the bell and add their own energy to the mix.

Planetary, Zodiac Sign and Point Definitions:

Please note that while only the positive attributes of each of the planets, signs and points are listed here, there are negative or challenging aspects to each as well. However, because I’m focusing mainly on those aspects and attributes which contribute to my overall Life Purpose, only the positive aspects are included here. Keep in mind, though, that the negative or challenging aspects of a planet, sign or point can be just as much in evidence as the positive. Additionally, the negative aspects of a sign should always be taken into consideration as well.

Points

Part of Fortune

– Area (sign and house) in which the native finds success,

wealth and good fortune.
South Node of the Moon

– Those skills, talents, abilities and behaviors

we bring with us into this life from past lives. Additional indicators of

karma and life purpose

. While some astrologers may not agree with

utilizing the placement of the Moon’s Nodes when lifting the
configurations, I believe that the Nodes as well as each of the additional
non-planetary points are just as much an integral part of planetary
geometry as the planets. Consider what the South Node of the

Moon, in particular, represents, in this excellent article on the Moon’s Nodes written by astrologer and AstroDatabase columnist, Terry McCartney of AstroResources.com:
“The South Node is the path behind you. By its sign and house location the South Node represents the past, including the skills, tendencies, strengths and habits your soul brings into this lifetime. The South Node indicates the kind of behavior that is instinctive and automatic to you. …

Astrologically, the nodes represent the major key toward understanding our lives as part of a continual thread. The North Node pulls you toward the future and the South Node toward the past. Ideally, we blend the two. That is,

we draw upon the skills and strengths represented by the South Node while walking the path of the North Node.” [bolding mine]

NOTE: If it’s true that the Moon’s Nodes

do engender so much significance, why wouldn’t they be included as part of a geometric planetary configuration?

For more in-depth information on the Moon’s Nodes, see Astrology Weekly, Moses Sirigar III (Astrology for the Soul), CafeAstrology and Bob Marks Astrologer.
Note the Grand Trine from Chiron in Aquarius to the South Node of the Moon in Gemini in the 10

th House to Neptune in Libra in the 3rd House, which forms a Grand Air Trine (which I’ll explain in more detail in the next section). Then note the sextile from the South Node of the Moon in Gemini to the Sun, Moon, Part of Fortune, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Pluto and my Ascendant in Leo, and then from all my planets in Leo sextile Neptune in Libra. The midpoint planet, which is directly opposite Chiron, is Jupiter. As noted in the descriptions of the sextile extensions of the Kite, the sextiles from the South

Node of the Moon on the left flank of the Kite and Neptune on the right both provide the Grand Air Trine with the motivation and harmony necessary to allow me to push myself to reach towards the focal planet, which in this case, is retrograde Chiron.

Interpretation

: Ultimately this configuration is showing that my Life Purpose is to help others to learn to understand and heal their own wounds. In order to do this, however, it will be necessary for me to utilize not only a serious degree of communication and intellectual abilities (Grand Air Trine), but courage (Leo) is required to lead (Leo) others to uncover their own wounds and heal them (Chiron in the 6th House).

Points:
Vertex – A hypothetical point in the ecliptic and in the natal chart which
represents fated or destined events or individuals.

Interpretation:

Native’s with these placements communicate and come across to the public as grounded, stable, methodical, organized, dependable and practical, especially in regard to areas involving health and healing (and they generally are all these things). The Vertex is a karmic identifier, meaning that any configuration containing the Vertex is ‘destined’ to occur. I don’t necessarily believe in ‘destiny’ or ‘fate,’ per se, but what I do believe is that when we write out our scripts before we incarnate – which includes drawing up our astrological natal charts – we are laying the groundwork for whatever purpose we intend to fulfill for that lifetime.

Ambiguous Configurations
While Kites and Grand Trines are positive configurations, Yods are often quite challenging in nature since they are comprised of quincunxes (150 degrees between planets) which lead to a great deal of friction and stress. However, the gift in the Yod is that it teaches valuable lessons. In fact, these are actually the best configurations to learn from, and are often the most karmic in nature.

the House of Career.
NOTE: A T-Square is actually half of a Grand Cross.

Interpretation: The opposition from the planets/point in Leo to retrograde Chiron forces Soul growth and the development of those healing abilities and skills which will be used in the public sector. Additionally, uncovering and developing those abilities and skills which will lead to ‘wealth’ and fortune in the public sector will be difficult to obtain without struggle and hard work on my part.

Part of Fortune – Area (sign and house) in which the native finds success, wealth
and good fortune.
NOTE: Because the Grand Cross is one of the configurations that is turbulent or challenging, it becomes necessary to focus on the negative aspects of this configuration. According to astrologer, Pauline Edward in her book

Astrological Crosses in Relationships,

“When not actively involved in an endeavor that appeals to their interests,
values, and tastes, fixed-sign individuals can be indifferent, intolerant, unmotivated, introverted, uncooperative, unproductive, and even destructive. If they are stuck in a rut or dull, day-to-day routine, they can come to believe that this is the only reality that is possible for them. When this happens, they develop a sense of worthlessness and can consider themselves to be stupid and untalented. Bit by bit they then sink further into a pit of despair.”
Fixed signs are also known to be stubborn and unyielding, ‘set in their ways.’

I can attest to this description. For many years I couldn’t see where I was going, and because I had been told so often when I was younger that I was stupid, worthless and incapable of producing anything worthwhile, I believed it, and thus became extremely depressed because I didn’t feel that I had anything of value to contribute to society. I’ve since realized that that is not the case: each of us has something of value to contribute.
On the positive side of the Cross, as Ms. Edward further states:

“‘The fixed sign people for the major part are absorbed in plans, projects, reasons,

abstract evaluations and the general over-all patterns of life. Consequently they are
…difficult…to understand…but they are fundamentally open-minded because they are
uninfluenced by other than their own judgments…Ultimately the most self-consistent…
they are hardly ever understood, unless unusually articulate in some individual case.”

Interpretation: Although this is a turbulent configuration, Grand Crosses – and Grand

Fixed Crosses, in particular – also facilitate Soul growth in numerous ways. The stubbornness, tenacity and persistence that is such an inherent part of these configurations, has helped me to ‘stay the course,’ even when I would otherwise have given in or given up.

Conclusion
In summary, in order to accurately determine the Life Purpose, it is necessary to isolate or lift out the geometric planetary configurations in the natal chart and collectively determine the meaning of the planets, signs, points and houses. Once this is accomplished, you are on your way to determining your own Life Purpose.
Overall Interpretation: My Life Purpose is to assist others to understand and heal their wounds through the understanding and healing of my own.

It is the sign of the zodiac which rises to the East, at the exact time of your birth, and thus requires for its calculation that you know the precise hour of this event. The Ascendant brings a lot of information on your personality; it is one of the keys which make possible to approach closely certain elements of yourself such as your physical appearance, your character as other people perceive it externally at first contact, your immediate behavior, informations about your health, your spontaneous reactions. It also corresponds to the external and apparent part of your personality, the one you want to show always at best, but also corresponds to your physical robustness on the duration that is to say your health.Your Ascendant: 20°56′ AriesYou express your vital energy in a very cut and dried way, you do not resist taking the driver’s seat and you may come across as arrogant. Charging ahead also implies hurting yourself and being suddenly overcome by doubt. As a result, your courage, your honesty, your enthusiasm and your straightforwardness may turn into aggressiveness, rebellion and vulnerability that no one ever suspected. Fortunately, the level of your energy is very high and your instinctive and pugnacious side will not leave you helpless for too long and will set you back on the often perilous road to conquest and glory.

With this Ascendant, you come across as courageous, enthusiastic, dynamic, quick, extroverted, direct, warm, impulsive, adventurous, bold, and competitive. But you may also be gullible, dominating, self-centered, impatient, foolish, thoughtless, childish, irascible, reckless, primary, with a foot in mouth disease.

Planets: Sun

The Sun represents vitality, individuality, will-power and creative energy and honours. For a woman, it also represents her father, and later her husband. The Sun is one of the most important symbols in the birth chart, as much as the Ascendant, then the Moon (a bit less for a man), the ruler of the Ascendant and the fast-moving planets.

It’s element is fire; it is hot and dry, it governs Leo, is in exaltation in Aries and is in analogy with the heart. It represents the boss, authority, beside the father and the husband ; the age of the Sun goes from 20 years old to about 40, following the Venus age when one is aware of his seductive power.

Temperament : Bilious

Characterology : Emotive, Active, Secondary, passionate type.

Interpretation of the 17° Pisces symbolic degree

“A man falls off as he jumps his horse over a fence. In a meadow, three wild horses fight each other.”

Daring, violent, and improvident character. It is necessary to avoid all forms of conflicts, learn to exercise some patience, and carefully ponder over the situation before taking action. Success can be achieved in sports, provided that one receives a good training. This degree portends dangers linked to horses and transportation in general. Expatriation or working abroad is strongly advised against.

Sun in Pisces

Your deep intuition and your extreme sensitivity allow you to perceive naturally what others understand through analysis. You do not follow the norms in use, societal or educational models and you prefer to create a moral for yourself. A feeling of isolation may come from your ability to live emotions that are unknown to your entourage. This strong impressionability endows you with a sixth sense and acute feelings. In some circumstances, distance and detachment are needed in order not to get bogged down in the necessities of the moment, in useless transient struggles and in barren conflicts. Pisces work wonders. Your strength: a sharp intuition of underlying stakes, a sensitivity that turns “the spirit of the times” into a real compass. All activities requiring stepping back are suitable for you. Before anyone else, you pick up the dangers of an adventure, the risks of defeats or of suspension… with your clear-sightedness more than due to pessimism. Therefore, you may abandon an objective that is not yet obsolete. It is important that you protect yourself against unnecessary disenchantments. Pisces hide a perceptiveness that many claim to possess. But your low-key advices are formulated in a peculiar language. The person who can understand your dazzling intuitions is very lucky.

Sun in House XII

In your natal chart, the Sun is in the 12th House, which the Tradition considers the sector of mystical experiences, but also, of ordeals and hurdles. You believe that spiritual evolution is achieved through ordeals and through renunciation. Besides, to your view, voluntary renunciation is the best way to avoid confrontations and hurdles. You long for a different world, and owing to your intuition, your thinking pattern is poetic and innovative.

Sun Dominant

If the Sun is part of your natal chart’s planetary dominants, in astrology, you are said to be a Solarian: you loathe pettiness and Machiavellian manoeuvre, and you are fond of natural nobleness as well as of direct and honest attitudes. You endeavour to get out of muddled or dark situations as quickly as possible. Your need for transparency may lead you to make cut-and-dried judgments such as yes or no, and black or white. However, your honesty commands your entourage’s consideration. At times, you come across as authoritarian. It is true that you never want to be thought of the notable absentee, and that you manage to make people pay attention to you, as well as to your plans and your assessments. To this end, the Solarian sometimes develops a great talent for placing himself under the spotlight without missing a single opportunity to arouse interest. Some other Solarians, although more discreet, still manage to be the focus of any debate, even in situations of exclusion. It is your way of being present even though you are actually not there… More than other people, you appreciate the esteem extended to you. It is useless to cheat with you, since in all areas you consider establishing enduring relationships only with those who love you, admire you, respect you, or express some degree of affection to you. Your will to straighten out your inter-personal relationships is your strength and sometimes, your Achilles’ heel. You cannot achieve anything behind the scenes. Therefore, your comportment is marked with heroism, and your stands are devoid of ambiguity, in the sense that your commitments are unfailing, and your rebuffs, final.

The Moon represents instinctive reaction, unconscious predestination, everyday mood, sensitivity, emotions, the feminine side of the personality, intuition, imagination. For a man, she represents his mother and later his wife, and his relationship with women in general. For a woman, the Moon is almost as important as the Sun and the Ascendant. Her element is water, she is cold and moist, she rules Cancer, is in exaltation in Taurus and is in analogy with the stomach.

She symbolizes the mother, wife, the crowd, the Moon is associated with birth and childhood. Tradition also matches her with the end of life, after Saturn the old age, it is thus customary to go back to one’s place of birth to die: the end of life meets the very beginning.

Temperament : Lymphatic

Characterology : Emotive, non Active and Primary type or Non-Emotive, non Active and Primary, Nervous or Amorphous type.

Interpretation of the 21° Capricorn symbolic degree

“Amid a lush landscape, a man works in his field with a plough pulled by a pair of oxen.”

Hard-working, persistent, and realistic character endowed with intellectual and physical strength. Whether one is a self-made person or an heir, hard work enables to overcome any hurdle and brings about happiness and prosperity. All careers in agriculture, exploitation of the soil, forestry, or botany are very favoured.

Moon in Capricorn

On the day and at the time of your birth, the Moon was in the sign of Capricorn. In your private sphere and your daily rhythms, you give precedence to moderation and reserve over the untimely excesses of your imagination. Your nature is more contemplative than excited and your deep sensitivity is controlled. It is probably the reason why you are sometimes criticized for your coldness. An ivory tower protects your fragile sensitivity. Your lunar sign belongs to a zodiacal axis (Cancer-Capricorn) that is particularly selective and self-protective: your close friends are handpicked and carefully chosen for their natural affinities with your personal realm. The external world is often disturbing. Therefore, you must create an enclosed environment where your fragile sensitivity can freely blossom. The only danger may be that you imprison your life rhythms in immutable rites and in a simplistic daily ceremonial. With more flexible intimate behaviours, your sensitivity can be fully expressed and the absolute harmony you dream of can be achieved.

Moon in House X

With the Moon in the 10th House, and according to the Tradition, popularity is favoured. In the best cases, it goes without saying that your social and professional undertakings are successful. Harnessing a gift, often an artistic one, naturally leads you to success. However, not everybody is bound to experience such a nice situation. Sometimes, the fact that one lets oneself be carried away by life results in disillusions. Bohemian lifestyle does not turn out well for everybody!

Moon Dominant

If the Moon is part of your natal chart’s planetary dominants, in astrology, you are said to be a Lunarian: the driving force behind your actions is mainly the pursuit of well-being and tranquillity. Your sensitive and romantic self lives on those periods of rest during which you let your imagination wander at will. This is your way of finding inspiration and balance. Nothing is allowed to disturb your feeling of fulfilment and security within a harmonious cell, be it a family or a clan. More than other people, the Lunarian is attached to those moments during which one forgets one’s worries and lets oneself cast adrift aimlessly, with no other goal than to be lulled into an ambiance, a situation, or a perfect moment. Many people do not understand such absences and their meaning, which is to regain strength. These people readily describe you with such unflattering terms as apathy and nonchalance. Never mind! Some inspirations require surrendering as well as striking a balance derived from alternate action and passivity. Your qualities are expressed to the fullest in situations which demand familiarity and privacy. Your capacities to respect and blend into your environment is at least as valuable as some other people’s aggressive dispositions. However, you are well-advised to avoid indolence and renunciation out of laziness or indifference.

Temperament : Nervous

Characterology : Emotive, non Active and Primary type or Non-Emotive, Active and Primary, Nervous or Sanguine type.

Interpretation of the 11° ; Pisces symbolic degree

“A young man in a nice suit stands between two cones and fiddles with his wristwatch. One of the cones is intact, and the other one has its top cut off.”

Indecisive, anxious, and ambitious character. If one is born in a wealthy family, after a reversal of fortune, one strives to recover one’s social status. If one has modest origins, one is capable to rise to an important position and to achieve some degree of fame. In both cases, one must not aim at the top since this degree indicates limitations, and any attempt to reach the summit results in accidents or health conditions.

Mercury in Pisces

Mercury describes your relationships, your communication skills and the way you relate to the external world. However, other astrological elements also influence these areas. The sign your Mercury occupies is significant only if Mercury is part of your planetary dominantes. In your chart, Mercury is in Pisces. You are connected to the world through your intuition. Contacts are established, and broken up, according to your sensitivity. Your perceptiveness is amazing. You soak into your environment in order to grasp its subtle games and you feel that you know things without learning them. You assimilate them unconsciously and you very sharply pick up hints and unformulated thoughts. Some sort of sixth sense.

Mercury in House XII

With Mercury in the 12th House, you are in search of the unknown. You display keen curiosity about strange topics, the paranormal, as well as unusual people and worlds. Your intuition and your analytical mind form one whole piece, and they perfectly blend into each other. You try to understand what is unexplainable, and to feel what is impalpable, which boils down to squaring the circle! In such conditions, it is most likely that your mode of communication has its own specific rules. Your comportment is pretty bizarre.

Mercury Dominant

If Mercury is part of your natal chart’s planetary dominants, in astrology, you are said to be a Mercurian: the tradition points out the importance of communication. From idle but enriching chatters to observation gift, such a dominant endows you with a wide range of expression. Human beings have one thousand facets and one thousand masks they wear according to circumstances and the fortunes of the game of life. You take the role of an observer who is avid for novelties, discoveries, and surprises. Everything catches your attention and becomes an opportunity for new encounters, relationships, and learning. The world amazes you, amuses you sometimes, and stimulates your curiosity. Because the most important thing is to discover, and because you consider that each new situation is packed with potentialities, you try to fill the gaps in your knowledge. Although your open-mindedness may scatter your centres of interest, it also enables you to carefully avoid sticking to only one immutable and rigid view. The slightest sign enables you to perceive the other side of the coin, as well as the infinite complexity of people and of situations. On the human plane, you seek the dialogue and the information without which you know that you are not able to fully grasp the nature of your interlocutor. This keen interest in the Unknown sharpens your inter-relational skills. All these qualities are traditionally associated with Mercury.

Temperament : Sanguine and Lymphatic

Characterology : Emotive, non Active and Primary type or Emotive, non Active and Secondary type.

Interpretation of the 11° Pisces symbolic degree

“A young man in a nice suit stands between two cones and fiddles with his wristwatch. One of the cones is intact, and the other one has its top cut off.”

Indecisive, anxious, and ambitious character. If one is born in a wealthy family, after a reversal of fortune, one strives to recover one’s social status. Venus in Pisces

Venus describes your affective life. On the day of your birth, she is found in Pisces. Your emotionalism is very strong and very unusual. You have your own manner to experience your emotions and your sensations, in an atmosphere that may be odd, you complicate your amorous life… and this is part of your charm, at the same time. On the chessboard of your sentimental life, quite strange games enfold. Your affectivity is subtle, fabulous and unusual: love reinvents everything and anything becomes possible when your heart is sincere. You dream of a complete fusion and of giving yourself totally. No rules, no moral or social code is more important than the feeling of shared passion and than living for your partner. Your affective life is complex, sometimes mysterious: you don’t know why you love, or why you don’t love any more… Your sentimental life obeys a different logic than that of the external world. Love is elusive and fragile. Nothing is easier than to destroy a feeling and to forget a passion. Your sensitivity responds to an unknown call, a strange signal. Therefore, you may shift from intense and absolute feelings to cruel indifference. Although you don’t know why, you are being transformed. The most difficult thing is to love a real being and not a shadow. You give yourself to persons who can understand and respect the fragile realm of your affectivity.

Venus in House XII

Venus expresses her characteristics through the 12th House values. Your affectivity obeys a quite complex logic. Indeed, love is not simple. More than anyone else, you are in search of an inaccessible sentimental absolute. Beyond the appearances, there is an almost mystical form of love which implies self-sacrifice and total fusion. This may lead to delusions and unfulfilled hopes. It is not easy to praise love to the skies in our implacable world. However, your affective experiences are intense.

Venus Dominant

If Venus is part of your natal chart’s planetary dominants, in astrology, you are said to be a Venusian: you are a sensual and emotional person particularly receptive to the natural likes and dislikes aroused by your contact with people. You are prone to frequent instinctive aversions and true passions which are exclusively driven by the feeling of love. The heart has its reasons which Reason knows nothing of… Your balance is based on the richness of your affective life. Without love, the Venusian is resourceless, lost, and deprived of any reason for living. You have an obvious and strong will to charm and to arouse the attachments without which you cannot properly function. Every area of your life is thus marked by your affectivity. The danger is that you may “be taken in” by charm. In such cases, you would prefer to keep your emotions under better control. Thus, hyper-sensitivity has its own inconveniences. Nevertheless, better than anyone else, you know how to play with feelings and attractions. Although you are sometimes caught in the traps of an over sensitive emotionalism, feelings remain your best assets in many circumstances. There is another aspect to the Venusian dominant. According to the Tradition, this planet rules the Arts, and you are endowed with some degree of artistic dispositions, ranging from good to excellent.

Mars Aspects
Mars sesqui-quadrate Saturn orb +0°00′
Sun conjunction Mars orb +9°12′
Mars quintile Jupiter orb +0°07′
Moon sextile Mars orb +4°52′

Planets: Mars

Mars represents the desire for action and physical energy, sexuality, strength. For a woman, Mars corresponds to the kind of man she’s attracted to (but not especially in marriage which is rather symbolized by the Sun, Mars is the lover, not the husband). Fire is its element, it is hot and dry, and it rules Aries and Scorpio (along with Pluto), is in exaltation with Capricorn and is in analogy with the muscles and the spleen.

It represents the soldiers, sportsmen, warriors, surgeons, blacksmiths… ; the age of Mars goes from 42 to 50 years old.

Temperament : Bilious

Characterology : Emotive, Active, Primary type. It is a Choleric.

Interpretation of the 26° Pisces symbolic degree

“A man knocks at the door of a house in the middle of the night at the very moment when an earthquake shakes the ground and uproots the trees.”

In the aftermath of a disaster caused by a twist of fate or by excesses of all kinds, one must rebuild one’s life with courage and learn from past mistakes. Ordeals increase self-confidence and faith in divine providence and turn out to be a powerful spur to accomplish remarkable feats.

Mars in Pisces

The planet Mars indicates how you react to life concrete stimulations. It also describes your fighting spirit, your abilities to stand for yourself and to take action. With Mars in Pisces, your reactions are often unexpected and original. You have your own way to assert yourself. You do not react according to norms. You have a subtle, indirect, sometimes concealed way to influence the world. A world that moves you deep down and where you are alternately a pawn and the main player. You readily play with paradoxes, you take strange attitudes and you find disconcerting answers to life’s concrete problems. You may not tackle common issues rationally, but better than anyone, you skilfully handle exceptional situations. The only danger is that, with your ambiguous attitudes, people may think that you are impenetrable.

Mars in House XII

With Mars in the 12th House, the sense of danger is not part of the arsenal of your qualities. You do not hesitate to take action even though you do not know clearly where you are heading for. Sometimes, you let yourself be guided by a premonition or a vague impression. Then, you leave no stone unturned without fearing the consequences of your deeds. This configuration describes activists, mystic campaigners, and pioneers of the unknown. You do not shirk from sacrifices when you deem that the cause is just.

Mars Dominant

If Mars is part of your natal chart’s planetary dominants, in astrology, you are said to be a Marsian: in your hand-to-hand struggle for life, you demonstrate an acute and active sense of confrontation with the world, with other people, and with your own destiny. You need to take action and to fight for your projects and your desires. You perceive all situations with deep intensity, and you react to the here and now without bothering to step back in order to ensure that events are under your control. You take up challenges with excessive foolhardiness as a consequence of your impulsiveness. However, better than anyone else, you know how to mobilise your resources in case of crisis. You take action whenever it is necessary to do so, and you are present in a timely manner. With Mars, your attitudes are dictated by the realities of the moment, by your emotions, and by everything which proved to have worked in the past. When this dominant is not well integrated, it may bring about an aggressive or impulsive behaviour. Therefore, you must learn to control your hyper-sensitivity and your fits of temper. You are also endowed with Marsian qualities: the fighting spirit and the taste for duel without which one may find oneself overwhelmed by events. When this willpower is well channelled, its precious energy enables to cope with all sorts of contingencies. There are a thousand ways to win, and a thousand challenges to take up with the enthusiasm and the dynamism which make life so worthy. A certain idea of life which is wild, passionate, and in tune with events.

Planets: Jupiter

Jupiter represents expansion and power, benevolence, large vision and generosity. Its element is Air, it is hot and moist, and it rules Sagittarius and Pisces (along with Neptune), is in exaltation with Cancer and is in analogy with the hips and endocrinal system.

It represents the governors, magistrates, professors, religious men too; the age of Jupiter goes from 50 to 55 or even 70 years old.

Temperament : Sanguine

Characterology : Emotive, Active, Primary type; it is an extrovert Choleric. Actually the humid version of Mars, inclined to action like him.

Interpretation of the 8° Gemini symbolic degree

“A king and a queen are seated on their throne.”

Noble, ambitious, and proud character endowed with self-confidence, above average intelligence, and strong leadership abilities. There is also a deep concern over the honour and the protection of the family. Talents are numerous and cover various fields. Therefore, one can achieve success in a wide range of occupations, from politics and the military to education, the arts, law, etc. One becomes aware of one’s calling quite early, but it is only around middle age that one reaches the peak of one’s career. One must never be disheartened when facing hurdles, doubts, and uncertainties, because this degree promises wealth, power, preferment, and fame, along with a good marriage. One often keeps a youthful appearance for a long time.

Jupiter in Gemini

The planet Jupiter symbolizes expansion, broadness and generosity. Jupiter is associated with the functions of synthesis, enthusiasm and optimism. In your natal chart, his house position is more important than his sign position because, like Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, he is a slow planet. Many people born in the same period have Jupiter in the same sign. This is the reason why the sign occupied here is less meaningful than when it is occupied by the so-called fast planets, i.e. the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars. Therefore, some caution is to be exercised as you read what follows. Jupiter in Gemini increases your mental creativity, your imagination and your capacity for adaptation. The outcomes may not be seen externally but this configuration usually develops your sense of contact: when Gemini’s well-known frivolousness and scattering meet with Jupiter’s synthesizing mind and tidiness, it can only endow you with the best assets for your communication and intellectual pursuits.

Jupiter in House II

Jupiter is in the 2nd House. Why does the Tradition credit Jupiter with such a fortunate influence? According to some treaties, no financial disaster can affect the lucky beneficiary of a 2nd House Jupiter. And even better, he is supposed to live in a natural affluence far from any kind of poverty. It is necessary to put these assertions into perspective. Indeed, some people are destitute although they feel rich in their head and can live in an environment full of cheap luxury! You are interested in acquisitions and possessions, and you have tremendous aptitudes for seizing any opportunity to make a capital yield profit, regardless of the source it comes from, and in spite of the reversal of fortune you might have undergone.

Jupiter Dominant

If Jupiter is part of your natal chart’s planetary dominants, in astrology, you are said to be a Jupiterian: because this planet brings about a keen interest in social and professional success, the Tradition considers it to be beneficial. Indeed, you know how to adjust to events and to jump at the chance when it arises. The members of you entourage gladly entrust you with high responsibilities because they are often impressed by your learning skills and your adaptation abilities as you deal with new structures and new languages. What is the secret of your good star? It is your self-confidence which wins public support. Now, what is the secret of your charm? Definitely, enthusiasm, euphoria, and exaltation. Exaggeration also. When this dominant is well integrated, it is a factor of affluence and optimism, and a certain degree of joviality enables you to easily fit into various spheres. It constitutes your main asset to manage your life. However, you must at times curb your desire for integration, lest your sense of opportunity turns into extreme opportunism. Here also, the key to success lies in a correct estimate of everyone’s chances and possibilities. Although management is one of your forte, and you can adjust your objectives to current realities better than other people, you lack the hindsight which enables you to avoid short-term vagaries and daily fluctuations. If you strive too much to adapt, you run a risk of betraying yourself. This is the other traditional side of the coin with “The Greater Benefic”!

“A snake tries to get rid of a swarm of flies, in vain. In the background, an isolated house is surrounded by a clump of trees.”

Reserved, obsessive, and resourceful character. One is surrounded by enemies who claim compensation for an injustice which one is responsible for. This degree sometimes indicates that one is haunted by the remorse for an old mistake or by some secret tragedy.

Saturn in Scorpio

The planet Saturn symbolizes contraction, effort, time, limitation and concentration. Saturn eliminates anything that is not authentic, sooner or later. It is impossible to cheat him as he gives an irresistible desire to form a coherent whole with oneself, in responsible and wise ways. He is the great purifier. He represents our limitations but also our truth. In your natal chart, the house position where Saturn is posited is more important than his sign position because, like Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, he is a slow planet. Many people born in the same period have Saturn in the same sign. This is the reason why the sign occupied here is less meaningful than when it is occupied by the so-called fast planets, i.e. the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars. Therefore, some caution is to be exercised as you read what follows. Saturn in Scorpio reinforces your resistance. Your demand for precision and your will to comprehend all things may make you seem a bit tough or harsh to your entourage. Because you are fond of precision, you are interested in exact sciences; your capacity to understand mysteries is strengthened. You learn to control your instincts, even though it may be detrimental to your spontaneity.

Saturn in House VII

In your natal chart, Saturn is in the 7th House. This configuration predisposes to some degree of rigour in human relations, associations, or within the couple. To link up to the world is not an easy task, and to blend into it is even more difficult. Your doubts and your questionings do not facilitate your social integration. However, your steady honesty works wonders once mutual confidence has dispelled reluctances and the sense of modesty you may have. Nevertheless, people should beware and never cheat on you!

Saturn Dominant

If Saturn is part of your natal chart’s planetary dominants, in astrology, you are said to be a Saturnian: you gladly leave to other people the decision to take life as it comes. As far as you are concerned, you prefer to take advantage of your experiences in order to discover, to grow, and to question yourself.

Jupiter sextile Uranus orb +1°08′

Planets: Uranus

Uranus represents individual freedom, originality, independence, marginality, avant guard inspiration, ultra modernism. Fire is its element, it is dry, and it rules Aquarius, is in exaltation with Scorpio and is in analogy with the brain and the nerves.

Temperament : Nervous to the extreme

Interpretation of the 7° Aries symbolic degree

“A man with a dagger in his hand tries to provoke a group of men who are quietly playing bowls. He is seething with rage because the players pay no attention to him.”

Hot-tempered, quarrelsome and reckless character. One always wants to create conflicts, antagonise everyone, criticise other people’s opinions, and stir trouble. One is heading for serious problems because of one’s own animosity. A career requiring aggressiveness is an excellent outlet for these violent impulses and brings about success and fame. If in the natal chart, Mars and Mercury form hard aspects with this degree, it portends bad reputation and misfortunes caused by one’s own brutality. If Saturn is in conjunction with this degree, it describes a person who chooses to live in poverty or who is a professional beggar.

Uranus in Aries

The planet Uranus symbolizes originality, independence and cerebral energy bursting suddenly. Uranus triggers the irresistible need for freedom that we have in ourselves. Uranus tends to break the constraints that have become unbearable and gives us the courage and the will to get rid of what has become a burden; when he is well aspected, he also indicates genius. In your natal chart, Uranus’ house position is more important than his sign position because, like Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto, he is a slow planet. Many people born in the same period have Uranus in the same sign. This is the reason why the sign occupied here is less meaningful than when it is occupied by the so-called fast planets, i.e. the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars. Therefore, some caution is to be exercised as you read what follows. The sign positions of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto have a collective meaning. They do not influence your personality, unless they are involved in numerous aspects or when they emphasize a personal point of your natal chart such as your Ascendant’s ruler, an angular planet, i.e. a planet near the Ascendant, the Midheaven, the Nadir or the Descendant. In such cases, the activity of the slow planet is very highlighted. Uranus in Aries increases your dynamism and your charisma but he may give you a self-centered nature through excessive drive and confidence.

Uranus in House XII

With Uranus in the 12th House, you set high standards for your ideals. Beyond self-interests and frenzied individualism, you look for a reason for living, for a model, or for a guide. You are open to revelations which may radically change your manner and your life. A clap of thunder out of the blue… Your marks crumble, and new convictions crop up. This is a U-turn! However, you must be wary of all kinds of fanaticism.

Uranus Dominant

If Uranus is part of your natal chart’s planetary dominants, in astrology, you are said to be a Uranian: personal values are prevailing. Inner certainties fuel an inflexible will and a desire to call attention on yourself as well as to follow your beliefs through. This planet prompts you to behave with determination, to put forward your own truth, and to start your personal revolution. More than other people, you are willing to keep some degree of autonomy in all circumstances, and you often display an individualistic nature. In order to achieve your ideal of freedom and independence, you may act like a despot as you try to convince and to impose your views, whether smoothly or forcefully. Regardless of the flexibility of your comportment, some situations demand an absolute firmness as well as uncompromising, frank and straightforward attitudes. People may criticise you for your intransigence and say that you are a hardliner. Outsider’s opinions don’t matter! The most important thing is that you act in all conscience and reach your primary objectives. More than anyone else, you know how to use your willpower and to focus your energy on a precise aim, relentlessly, whatever the consequences might be. In the chapter of qualities, let’s mention a definite sense of responsibility, an innovative mind open to techniques and modern ideas, as well as a natural self-discipline which overcomes many an obstacle. Therefore, people are well-advised not to hound you into a corner.

Jupiter square Neptune orb +5°03′
Saturn trine Neptune orb -7°55′

Planets: Neptune

Neptune represents escapism, impressionability, daydreaming, delusions, carelessness, deception or intuition, dishonesty or inspiration, telepathy. Water is its element, it is moist, it rules Pisces, is in exaltation in Cancer, though some authors say it is Leo, and is in analogy with the vegetative system.

It represents dreamers, mediums, magicians, merchants of illusion, drug addicts.

Temperament : rather Lymphatic

Characterology : Emotive, non Active, Primary or Secondary type; it is a Sentimental, or sometimes Amorphous type.

Interpretation of the 3° Pisces symbolic degree

“In a small chapel adorned with a cross, a prayer book is open. On the nearby table, there are a cello, a flute, a hammer, a carpenter plane, a microscope, and medicinal herbs.”

Reflective, benevolent, and inventive character endowed with gifts for occultism. One is a loner and works best in the silence and the calm of secluded places. Success and wealth can be achieved in a host of disciplines, among which, religion, philosophy, the arts, the craft industry, natural healing, research, etc. The natal chart shows which occupation is most suitable.

Neptune in Pisces

The planet Neptune symbolizes extreme receptivity, intense emotional sharpness, impressionability and inspiration; it is the planet of mediums, mystics and religious faith. In an astrological chart, it indicates dilution, vagueness, understanding one’s environment through emotions and the absence of clear and determined limits and structures. In your natal chart, Neptune’s house position is more important than his sign position because, like Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto, he is a slow planet. Many people born in the same period have Neptune in the same sign. Neptune in Pisces is in his own sign and, according to the Tradition, he is most potent and at his best; Neptune’s values are magnified in this sign of unlimited things and compassion. Your empathy is splendid, your sensitivity is that of a poet, your heart is that of a lover and your imagination is incredible. Your dedication is exemplary.

Neptune in House XII

Neptune is in the 12th House. This is probably one of the most significant configurations for occultism, the world of mystery, and mysticism. Your sharp intuition lets you perceive what is behind the surface, as well as the existence of a hereafter, or a different, subtle and secret universe. In some cases, this special perception of the world may go as far as to endow you with clairvoyance or channelling gifts. These dormant talents should be practiced during your leisure time!

N.B.: When a planet is posited near the cusp of the next astrological house (less than 2 degrees for the Ascendant or the Midheaven, and less than 1 degree for all the other houses), it is considered to be posited in the following house. This rule is used in the texts of this interactive chart and in all our astrological softwares.

Neptune Dominant

If Neptune is part of your natal chart’s planetary dominants, in astrology, you are said to be a Neptunian: your intuition is highly developed. You are of a contemplative nature, and you are particularly receptive to ambiances, places, and people. You gladly cultivate the art of letting-go, and you allow the natural unfolding of events to construct your world. You follow your inspirations, for better or for worse. At times, you display an extraordinary clairvoyance gift. You seem to be able to read your subconscious like a book, and you track down subtle underlying mechanisms, flaws, or open breaches. This innate intuition might explain the strokes of good luck which the Neptunian is sometimes credited with. However, you may also be the victim of illusions and misleading intuitions. You are an idealist, and you let your deepest aspirations prevail over the realities of the moment. Then, you set off in quest of some quixotic objective, living like a Don Quixote who relentlessly pursues an impossible dream. You have a great talent for psychology and the mysteries of the human soul. Since you instinctively perceive people’s intents and motivations, as you swim in the complexity of human nature, you feel in your element. The subtlety of your perceptiveness is the source of both special affections and irrevocable rejections. What is the danger of such a dominant? If it is not offset by other influences in your natal chart, you may not have an iron will. Your trump card is your instinct, which may be developed to the extent that it becomes clairvoyance.

Pluto 11°15′ Capricorn, in House X

Venus sextile Pluto orb +0°32′
Mercury sextile Pluto orb -0°10′
Uranus square Pluto orb -3°58′
Moon conjunction Pluto orb +10°10
Sun sextile Pluto orb +5°50′

Planets: Pluto

Pluto represents deep transformations, mutations and eliminations, sexuality and magnetism, power and secrets, destruction with a view to regeneration, the phoenix rising from the ashes. Its element is indefinite; burning (like lava in fusion ?), it rules Scorpio, is in exaltation in Pisces and is in analogy with the sexual organs and excretion.

It represents dictators, sadistic people, violent characters, is instinctive and powerful but also mysterious with hidden strengths.

Temperament : rather Bilious

Characterology : Emotive or non-Emotive, Active, Primary type; it is a Passionate Choleri typec.

Interpretation of the 11° Capricorn symbolic degree

“In the moonlight, a man unleashes his dog on a fox which is already far away.”

Shrewd, secretive, and subtle character endowed with swift thinking process. All activities based on speed are favoured, such as cycling or flying, as well as all positions requiring quick decision-making capacities. Success can also be achieved in the police, in genealogy, and in all kinds of investigation work. However, if mental cleverness is misused and serves illegal purposes, one incurs a heavy punishment such as a prison sentence or exile.

Pluto in Capricorn

The planet Pluto symbolizes deep disruptions and upheavals, domination and sexual instincts, and the inner power we have in ourselves. Pluto destroys in order to reconstruct and he provokes painful crises that are needed in metamorphosis. Pluto is our deepest instincts’ brutal force. It is the hidden and unconscious violence that can explode in us with incredible intensity before being projected in our actions; in itself, the planet is not negative: the might and the intensity of its energy are beyond the conceivable but it can be funnelled. Pluto is the only possibility we have at our disposal to overcome our inner blocks and to eliminate outgrown situations that have become inextricable. Pluto’s energy is valuable because of its usefulness for the irreversible destruction of what constitutes a problem and not because of its negative side and its perversity. Pluto allows to reconstruct and to regenerate parts of our personality or whole stretches of our life, provided that we manage to funnel his wild energy and to step back. It is impossible to tame this energy, given its essence. However, it is possible to take advantage of it for a precise aim, through a temporary identification of some parts of us with this energy. In such a case, the outcome is our final evolution and even, our transformation. In your natal chart, Pluto’s house position is more important than his sign position because, like Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, Pluto is a slow planet. Many people born in the same period have Pluto in the same sign. They do not influence your personality and they are not to be really taken into account, unless they are involved in numerous aspects or when they emphasize a personal point of your natal chart such as your Ascendant’s ruler, an angular planet, i.e. a planet near the Ascendant, the Midheaven, the Nadir or the Descendant. In such cases, the activity of the slow planet is very highlighted. Pluto in Capricorn increases your clear-sightedness and your ambition: your iron determination is imbued with the passion to achieve your professional destiny and to imprint your domineering mark in the area in which you are involved.

Pluto in House X

With Pluto in the 10th House, you often play your game well when you face a situation of crisis or a muddled environment. In the professional and social areas, your progression is special and subtle. The art of manipulation behind the scenes turns you into an efficient and formidable partner. You intervene in the dark, far from social niceties. You easily detect weaknesses and false values, and you carry out your work with clear-sightedness, aiming at your self-interests, and with a scheming mind.

Pluto Dominant

If Pluto is part of your natal chart’s planetary dominants, in astrology, you are said to be a Plutonian: you sometimes feel like a foreigner who does not belong to the world, to its laws, and its concerns. The rules of life in society are not necessarily yours. You are interested in what is unknown and in the subtle laws of a hidden order. So, you take malicious pleasure in ridiculing the patterns you find too simplistic or too rigid. You also revel in underlining the limits of explanations you deem too common. There is something unconventional about the way you are, the way you think, and the way you act. What is your specificity made of? Is it an extraordinary partner? A life off the beaten path? Or do you only distance yourself from conventional morals? In any case, you have the feeling, sometimes quite vague, that you come from nowhere, and that you do not belong to any definite group… In short, it means that you cannot be simplified in order to conform to existing models. The gap between you and ordinary mortals is also an element of your strength. Your deep clear-sightedness, firstly, enables you to put things into perspective and to grant them only the attention they deserve. Your other remarkable asset is your capacity to intervene from behind the scenes, to secretly organise events, and to bring about the desirable outcome without seeming to impose or to dictate anything. However, you must still overcome one of the major difficulties of this dominant, which is to get people to accept your difference and to smoothly fit into your environment.

Chiron 10°19′ Pisces, in House XII

Asteroids: Chiron

Chiron is almost renowned and used everywhere. Most astrologers consider it as a kind of “mediator” between Saturn and outer planets. Consequently, Chiron is of Saturn’s nature and at the same time is influenced by Uranus, the first slow-moving planet. Astrologically, it symbolizes wisdom, patience and the faculty to reduce others’ sufferings: it is said to be the “great healer” of the zodiac. Like all the secondary bodies, it must be in close conjunction with planets or angles in order to fully express its action.

Interpretation of the 10° Pisces symbolic degree

“A man and a woman reclining on a Roman bed cheerfully partake wine and fruits.”

Sensual, fickle, and impulsive character overindulging in sensuality and the pleasures of the table, shamelessly. One becomes quickly infatuated and gets bored as rapidly. Constantly going from one partner to another only brings about increasing frustrations. One must understand the difference between sex and love, and that the former is most unlikely to last forever. If one does not pull oneself together, some day, one may wake up, in poor health, to find out that years have gone by, and that one is left with a meaningless life. Although Pisces is considered a mute sign, this degree indicates that gossips cause serious troubles and that bad reputation threatens men and women alike.

Ceres 23°14′ Gemini, in House III

Asteroids: Ceres

Ceres, the biggest of the four minor asteroids used besides Chiron, is associated with the mythological goddess of growing plants and harvest and also symbolizes physical constitution, vitality and fertility. She’s also known as Demeter, according to the astrologer Zipporah Dobyns, linked to the symbolism of the mother but in a less emotive and more physical way than the Moon. Ceres is thought to be the ruler of Virgo, in exaltation in Gemini, in exile in Pisces and in fall in Sagittarius. Keywords associated with Ceres could be order, practical sense, worry, precision, modesty, method, sobriety, motherhood, fertility, the Earth: a kind of a more cerebral Moon…

Interpretation of the 23° Gemini symbolic degree

“Amid chirping and fluttering sparrows, two women talk quietly on a bench.”

Generous, cheerful, and spontaneous character. One has nice oratorical skills and attracts many friends, but one tends to be superficial and have difficulty in concentrating deeply on any specific subject. As years go by, this weakness becomes the cause of many ordeals, and efforts must be made in order to remain more focused on few identified areas instead of having scattered centres of interest.

Pallas 20°57′ Aries, in House I

Asteroids: Pallas

Pallas is sometimes used in modern Astrology: she represents intelligence, abstract and global thinking talents. It is usually considered to be a determining element in political strategy.

Interpretation of the 20° Aries symbolic degree

“On a raft lost in the middle of the ocean, a man in great distress, but combative, waves a white cloth for help.”

This degree portends loneliness, extreme poverty, and perhaps, exile or imprisonment abroad. In difficult circumstances, friends are unwilling or unable to help. Trips to foreign countries are strongly advised against. One must think thoroughly before taking action, and opt for a quiet and modest life in order to offset the dangers of drowning, in both the literal and the figurative sense, which are associated with this degree.

Juno 29°20′ Capricorn, in House X

Asteroids: Juno

Juno is the asteroid corresponding to the adaptation to the marital partner and to the defence of individual rights; it is thus used in the field of marriage.

Interpretation of the 29° Capricorn symbolic degree

“In an aviary, a man plays the flute amid birds and shiny bubbles.”

Superficial, daring, and unpredictable character endowed with strong powers of seduction. One can be successful in animal taming and training, or in prestidigitation. More often than not, wealth is acquired through a nice marriage.

Vesta 18°23′ Gemini, in House II

Asteroids: Vesta

Vesta is rarely used and brings the ability to efficiently devote oneself to a cause.

Interpretation of the 18° Gemini symbolic degree

“A wretched man courageously leaves his beautiful mansion behind him. His wife, in a lavish dress, follows him with deep regret and looks back at their former abode.”

Unless the natal chart strongly indicates otherwise, this degree heralds that years of prosperity are followed by ruin and destitution.

True North Node 19°00′ Я Scorpio, in House VII

North Node

The North Node (True Node here) represents the goals that must be achieved during life, in the karmic sense according to some traditions. Its position in house indicates in what field an effort is necessary in order to evolve. The North Node is often called the Dragon’s head, it is usually considered beneficial, a bit like Jupiter with the planets. The Lunar nodes are fictional points and not actual heavenly bodies: they are the intersections of the Moon with the Ecliptic (the path made by the Sun in its orbit as seen from the Earth). The axis of the Lunar nodes moves 19 degrees each year, namely a bit more than three minutes each day.

The South Node is diametrically opposed to the North Node, therefore it faces it (it’s not drawn here, it’s the same symbol but upside down). It symbolizes what has already been achieved or acquired, in a karmic sense: it’s the past from which it’s advised to move on in order to progress. The South Node is rather negative, of a Saturnian nature: the experience through suffering.

Interpretation of the 19° ; Scorpio symbolic degree

“On the seashore, a man riding a camel gazes in amazement at the sun rising over the horizon.”

Proud, independent, and fair character attracted to oriental matters. Success and fame can be achieved in politics and/or reforms and discoveries, particularly if the Sun is strong in the natal chart. This degree heralds that the greatest honours are granted, and that all ambitions are fulfilled, even the wildest ones.

True Lilith 2°44′ Cancer, in House III

Lilith

Lilith or the Dark Moon (True Lilith here) represents the uncrossable threshold, taboos, the individual’s provocative and fascinating side, including on a sexual level. She symbolizes violence and “untameability”, the radical and deep-seated refusal to submit. The keywords for Lilith can be sterility, sadism, perversity, castration, sadomasochism, eroticism, orgasm, forbidden fantasies, marginality, cruelty; redemption, illumination, rebelliousness… Lilith’s opposite point is called Priapus; it is the Lunar perigee, the position where the Moon is closest to the Earth. It symbolizes man’s primitive nature, the horror hidden in our deepest self; masochism, extreme sensuality, impulsiveness, irrationality and excess. Physically speaking, the Dark Moon is the focal point unoccupied by the Earth: it is not a concrete body but a mathematical point.

Interpretation of the 2° Cancer symbolic degree

“A woman dressed in black is desperately weeping on a sofa, a bunch of withered flowers in her hand.”

This degree indicates that life is under the influence of persons of the opposite gender. One must display extreme caution in relationships if disgrace is to be avoided. Sexual impulses must go through the sieve of reason and past experiences.

Fortune 25°16′ Aquarius, in House XI

Part of Fortune

The Part of Fortune is an ancient concept, used by Ptolemy and other astrologers before him. Firstly, it has nothing to do with fortune! In modern astrology, it is actually used to enhance a planet or angle when in close conjunction with it: it thus amplifies the meaning associated to the point affected by its presence. It is calculated in the following way:

Part of Fortune = AS + Moon – Sun (it is the Moons position when the Sun rises)

The classical Part of Fortune, of which the calculus method is unchanged whether in a diurnal or nocturnal chart, is usually distinguished from the diurnal/nocturnal Part of Fortune which is calculated by the formula AS + Sun – Moon for a nocturnal chart, and AS + Moon – Sun in a diurnal chart.

We currently use the latter formula for our astrological programmes.

Interpretation of the 25° Aquarius symbolic degree

“A personage surrounded by a halo of light walks towards a blindfolded man who heads for an abyss.”

Confused, helpless and self-righteous character. Instead of stubbornly repeating the same mistakes, one must seek the advice of more experienced friends who can help avoid dangerous traps and teach the rudiments of one’s job. Clear-sightedness is a must, and when one is lost, one must remember that sitting down on the ground protects against injuries in case of fall.

Ascendant 20°56′ Aries
Ascendant Aspects
Moon square Ascendant orb -0°29′

Ascendant or House I

The First House or Ascendant represents one’s behaviour in the eyes of others, and also one’s health. It corresponds to the way the individual acts in the world. It is the image of the personality seen by others and the person’s visible behaviour expressed outwardly. The 1st House is in analogy with Aries and thus Mars too, and then the Sun. It is an angular house, the most important one with the Midheaven, maybe even more so due to its link with the body and health.
